Our Tyre Brands
Here at Colm Hanly Motors, we import all our tyres offering the customer massive savings without compromising on quality. We have over 1500 new tyres in stock and have all types of brands from budget makes to mid range and premium brands.
Below are the PREMIUM TYRE BRANDS such as Michelin and Continental we have in stock or can order at anytime. Premium tyres mean they are the most expensive and the best money can buy in terms of level of grip, noise quality and brake stopping distance, i.e the distance travelled before the car stops, which is especially important on wet slippery roads.
We also stock a large quantity of QUALITY TYRE BRANDS and if they are not in stock, we can order anytime. Quality tyre brands – included in the picture below – have the best of both worlds; they have good wet and dry grip and are not as expensive as the the premium tyres above. These tyres suit the customer who wants decent new tyres but may not want to spend a huge amount.
We also have a massive stock of BUDGET TYRE BRANDS which are from multiple tyre manufacturers in China and are the cheapest tyres you can buy. These would not be as good for grip as the tyres above, but do tend to last longer as they don’t wear as quickly. This is due to the manufacturing process using less rubber which makes it less expensive.
To check your tyre size if you are phoning us to get a quote, please look on the side of the tyre and you will see the tyre size as shown in the picture below.
Tyre Fitting Done Right
To maintain a certain quality in our tyre centre, we have invested a significant amount of money in a special non-touch tyre fitting machine for fitting tyres to new wheels without marking them.
You can see a demonstration of this in the video below.
Precise Wheel Balancing
We have one of the best wheel balancing machines on the market in terms of quality and precision to minimise wheel vibrations in your vehicle while driving. You can see a demonstration of this in the video below.
Tracking / 4 Wheel Alignment
We like to do things right, so we’ve invested heavily in the best equipment. In the video below, you will see how we perform Tracking or 4 Wheel Alignment on all types of cars, vans, 4x4s and campers. We have highly trained alignment technicians who make sure the vehicle is aligned properly and driving straight on the road with minimal tyre wear.
Wheel alignment starts at €50 and you will recieve a print out of the results afterwards.

TYRE PRESSURE MONITORING
The tyre pressure monitoring system is known as TPMS or that pesky tyre light that keeps coming up on your dashboard for no reason.
EU brought into law that all new cars sold in Europe must have TPMS installed in 2015.
TPMS: breaking people’s hearts for over 10 years now.
THE KNOWLEDGE
This system was developed to indicate low tyre pressure to the driver for safety reasons, while also aiding fuel economy and emissions. Low tyre pressure, which can be dangerous to the driveability, can also cause fast increased tyre wear. If a car is being driven with low tyre pressure it can raise the fuel consumption, in turn increasing emission values.
With our TPMS tool we can scan the tyre valves on each wheel for programming or check the valve’s battery condition.
At Colm Hanly Motors, we can fix your vehicle’s tyre light faults by repairing or replacing new valves on the wheel. Sometimes the light can come on and a simple tyre inflation or a reprogramm of the valves will sort the issue. We constantly have a large stock of different types of valves and valve service kits ready to fix any problem.
